It’s Coming Home
After the uncertainty of Manchester Pride 2025, the fate of our beloved yearly Pride celebrations was unknown. Due to rising costs of infrastructure effecting countless hospitality and entertainment industries and declining demand for tickets, what was once an annual certainty was at risk of closure.
But, over the past year, members of the Manchester LGBTQ+ Community have come together to bring Manchester Village Pride back into the hands of those that need it the most.
And this year, the Parade will be no different. Central Chambers will join members of the LGBTQ+ community and walk arm in arm with their friends, allies and biggest supporters. Together, Pride will return to its home at the very heart of the community.
A Rich History of LGBTQ+ Activism
Manchester has always been a trailblazer for LGBTQ+ equality:
- 1964: The North West Homosexual Law Reform Committee set the stage for LGBTQ+ liberation, leading to the national Campaign for Homosexual Equality and the decriminalisation of homosexual behaviour between two consenting males.
- 1988: Over 20,000 voices resonated through the streets of Manchester in a historic protest against Section 28, marking one of the largest LGBTQ+ demonstrations in the UK.
- 1990s: Manchester’s Gay Village became a space for the community to be loud and proud, showcasing the city’s open and liberal spirit.
- 2018: Manchester Pride made history by becoming the first organisation in the UK to incorporate the black and brown stripes into the rainbow flag, ensuring representation for LGBTQ+ people of colour.
- 2026: Manchester Village Pride was established to bring Pride back to the people of Manchester. This year is their inaugural Village Pride Celebration, building on the decades of annual Pride celebrations that have come before it.
Central Chambers is proud to be at the forefront of the Pride Celebrations, being the only Chambers to participate every year in the Manchester Pride Parade. This year is no different.
A Wickedly Good Time
This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Home”, drawing on inspiration from the beloved Wizard of Oz and the message of hope that has resonated with the LGBTQ+ community for almost a century.
Showcase your unique flair and march with us in the Manchester Village Pride Parade, arm in arm with your LGBTQ+ siblings, colleagues, friends and family back to where Pride in Manchester began.
Participation in the newly improved MVP Parade will be made more impactful by walkers who join Chambers presenting a unified front.
Together we hope to sport our best Ozian themed garments and accessories, be that red and sparkly or covered in green, make it your own. If you don’t feel comfortable dressing for the theme, don’t worry – just bring yourself a pair of comfortable shoes.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, 29th August 2026
- Time: The parade begins at 12:00pm. Chambers will be hosting a Pride Breakfast for those walking with us prior to the start of the parade. Details will follow from sign-up.
- Location: Manchester City Centre (details will follow from sign-up)

Conditions of participation: To join us, you are asked to agree that you will not engage in discriminatory behaviour or language. We believe that there is not LGB without the T. Transphobic conduct will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave if you display such behaviour.
Please note: Joining Central Chambers for the Parade will not grant you access to the Manchester Village Pride Party, which is being hosted across August Bank Holiday weekend. This is a separate ticketed event in which Central Chambers is not involved.
